These series of illustrations juxtapose trash with materials needed for food consumption. It reflects the ecological issue of waste in Singapore society. Three mass-produced materials for food packaging, paper, plastic and styrofoam, have been identified and illustrated to contain food items that are considered as popular in Singapore. The illustration aims further to engage the viewer to connect the image of Singapore as a food-obsessed city-state through the imageries of multifaceted cuisine. Yet, the illustrations elevate an awareness of waste by translating these packaging into trash as well.
